Vice President | Sales and Marketing
Jacob has been with PHS West, Inc. for more than 20 years working his way up from pushing a broom on the production floor. Having a hands-on experience in virtually every corner of the business, Jacob has led the sales and marketing team through operational and tactical plans with a true understanding of what it takes to get the job done.
Jacob attended Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, South Carolina for Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management. He is happily married to his wife Maria whom he shares his five children (Kai, Dylan, Anna, Ellie and Veronica). He promptly added, “pray for me” when discussing his two boys and three girls. Jacob also mentioned to ask him about his hobbies once the kids are grown and out of the house but he does enjoy cooking. While he does not consider this a hobby, he does use any extra time he may find left in the day towards being a board member of the Wiedemann-Steiner Syndrome (WSS) Foundation.
Based on his formal education, Jacob is frequently asked what his favorite food is. He finds it is always easier to say what he does not like: No stink cheese (a painful day in cooking school when he was expected to taste test cheese from the “blue family”) or durian. Jacob tried this while in Singapore and nearly lost it! Everything else, he really likes! When he is not under the typical evening rush to feed the kids and get them to bed, he simply enjoys cooking whatever comes to mind. Yet, he does defer to oven-baked chicken nuggets and french fry nights.
